Custom Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush for Private Label & Wholesale
The self-cleaning button is now the category standard, and the format buyers search for by name.
Product Overview
The retract button is why this brush outsells plain slickers. Fine stainless pins pull loose undercoat out efficiently, and then the owner has a handful of hair stuck in a pad - which is the annoying part. Pressing the button withdraws the pins through a plate and lifts the whole mat of hair off in one piece.
That mechanism is now the category standard and the thing shoppers search for by name, so a range without one looks dated. The button is also the part to test at sample stage, since it is the only moving component and the one a review will punish if it sticks. Colourway, logo and the header card are the usual customisations.

Who This Product Suits
Grooming salons
A working tool bought in multiples and replaced on wear, which makes it a repeat-order line rather than a one-off sale.
Coat-specific brands
Pin length, density and flex can be tuned to a coat type, which is a credible reason for a specialist brand to exist at all.
Ecommerce grooming sets
Brushes anchor a multi-piece set, and a set sells at a far better margin than the same items sold separately.
Distributors
Compact, light and cheap to ship, so a wide assortment costs very little in freight.
Safety & Compliance
Existing test reports
No third-party test report is currently on file for this product, so we do not describe it as certified.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
We start at 100 pieces. The real figure moves with the specification - a colour change sits at the low end, while a custom mould, a bespoke size ladder or a new formulation needs more volume to be worth running. Your exact MOQ is confirmed in the quotation rather than guessed at here.
What can actually be changed on a brush?
Pin length, pin density and the flex of the backing pad are the three that change how the tool feels in use, and all are open. Handle material, colour and grip shape are straightforward. A new handle mould carries a tooling cost, which we quote separately and state before you commit.
Self-cleaning or standard?
A self-cleaning head - the retract button that releases the hair - is the single feature shoppers mention most in reviews, and it justifies a higher price. It adds a mechanism that has to be tested, so we sample it before production rather than after.
Can we see a sample before we commit?
Yes, two ways. If the item is a stock design you pay the shipping only, with any customs charges billed at cost. For a customised sample we need about 15 days to build it, with 70% of the sample cost up front and the balance on approval. The approved sample becomes the production standard.
Have the pins passed a sharp-point test?
No report is on file by default and we do not describe these as certified. Sharp-point and sharp-edge assessment, plus pin retention and handle pull-off testing, can be arranged before shipment at an agreed cost - worth doing for the EU and UK.
